Super Fun Stuff

At Evening Star Tourist Park, there's something for everyone to do and explore. Just a couple of key items about the Park:

CampFire

Gather around our legendary campfire, built with reclaimed mulga and gidgee timber from historical land use.
This iconic feature of our park creates the perfect atmosphere for stories, laughter, and a true outback experience.

Old Machinery

Explore our collection of old machinery scattered throughout the property.
These pieces tell the story of the area’s agricultural past and add to the rustic charm of the park.

Damper Time

Enjoy our traditional campfire damper, cooked in a wood stove on alternate evenings.
It’s an iconic part of outback life that you won’t want to miss.

Live Entertainment

Everyone gets a start here at the Van park, with visiting musicians, instrument players, bush poets to storytellers.
The performances add a special touch to your stay.

Walking/Bike Paths

Take a stroll or bike ride through our scenic paths, designed to let you explore the beauty of the park’s surroundings.
Whether short or long, you’ll find the perfect path for every mood.

Dog Friendly

We are a Dog friendly park, with lots of great tracks to sniff, wander and walk.
Plus, we have a Dog Park, where you can take you dog off-lead and let them run free!

Vegetable Garden

Guests are welcome to pick up some vegies from the garden. The produce is based on what’s plentiful at the time, and it’s a wonderful way to enjoy farm-to-table fresh ingredients.

StarGazing with Greg

Available onsite star-gazing sessions with Greg at the woolshed. Under the vast, clear skies of South West Queensland, it’s a perfect chance to marvel and learn about the stars.

Bird Watching

Bird watchers will love our park! Lots of different spots and walks to find birds, you will be able to observe a variety of native species in their natural habitat.

WIFI - Starlink

We have Starlink available for guests to stay connected at the main spots within the Park, to help you stay in touch, download, read or watch...if you want too!

Water & Wash Down Bay

Our water here is exceptional. Clean, fresh, and natural, it’s sourced directly from our local surroundings to ensure the best quality for our guests. Plus we have a wash down bay to clean your gear. It operates on a donation system.

Recycling

We take sustainability seriously. Our recycling includes separation bins placed at both the front and back amenities blocks, ensuring a cleaner and greener park for all.

Considerations

  • Coverage – Mobile coverage can be spotty, whilst there are cell boosters available. Same for TV coverage, due to the parks elevation (310mtres), high frequency UHF/VHF long range amplified antennas work best.
  • Fires – no fires are allowed in powered sites, and sites within the unpowered area must be in a raised container and disposed appropriately. No fires are permitted on the ground.
  • CampFire/Stoves – no guests are to load the fire or stoves in any capacity.
  • Dump Point – basic dump point available, recommendation for large volumes, use the dump point in town near Charleville Airport.
  • Red Dirt – remember this is South West QLD, the red dirt can be hard & unforgiving, plus dusty.
